I am an early career mechanical engineer who seeks to solve problems and take on new challenges in the design and sustainment of entertainment engineering systems in the context of safety and reliability. This passion for delivering safe and reliable engineering solutions led me to pursue opportunities at companies in Entertainment Engineering and Aerospace & Defense, where safety is of the highest priority. Particularly, my internship with the Worldwide Safety Assurance team of Walt Disney World gave me extensive hands-on experience working on one-of-a-kind electromechanical systems that need to operate 20 hours/day, 365 days/year, with extreme attention given to safety, reliability, and quality. To ensure these attractions meet those high standards, meticulous care goes into identifying and mitigating risk through hazard and failure analyses, and rigorous testing and evaluation is required to validate the designs before any guest can enjoy them. This process is my passion and why I study engineering – understanding why things fail, capturing those critical failures in analyses and simulation, documenting the best mitigations to reduce hazard likelihood and risk, and ultimately delivering safe products that people get to enjoy.
